What Is the Engagement Ring?
The Engagement Ring is the key item for marriage in Fields of Mistria, added in the 1.0 launch update (August 5, 2026). Unlike many cozy games, you craft the ring yourself instead of buying it — it unlocks as part of the romance progression and is the item you use to propose to your chosen partner.
It is listed in the in-game Almanac among craftable items, alongside rings like the Copper Ring, and the recipe unlocks as your relationship with a candidate deepens. Prepare the materials ahead of time so you can propose the moment you hit max hearts.
How to Get Married (Full 1.0 Process)
- Reach max hearts with one of the 11 romanceable characters (6 bachelorettes + 5 bachelors).
- Complete their heart events — each character has a personal story arc that must be finished before marriage is possible.
- Craft the Engagement Ring once its recipe unlocks through your romance progression.
- Propose to your partner with the ring.
- Wedding Event: the game holds a wedding ceremony for you and your spouse-to-be.
After the wedding your partner moves into your farmhouse, and you unlock 3 pieces of your spouse's furniture to decorate your shared home. Your spouse also helps around the farm and unlocks new dialogue and daily interactions.
Marriage Rules & Things to Know (1.0)
- One spouse only: the game currently lets you marry one candidate at a time.
- Divorce: as of the 1.0 release there is no announced divorce mechanic.
- Spouse furniture: after marriage you unlock 3 pieces of their furniture set for your shared house.
- All 11 candidates are marriageable: every bachelorette and bachelor can be proposed to with the ring.
